Ontwikkelaar Remedy Entertainment en uitgever Epic Games hebben de eerste gameplaybeelden van Alan Wake 2 uit de doeken gedaan tijdens de PlayStation Showcase.
Dit is het vervolg op Alan Wake uit 2010, maar dit dit wordt een pure horrorgame, waard de vorige een thriller was. Niet alleen Alan Wake is speelbaar, maar ook FBI Agent Saga. Het verhaal speelt zich af in Bright Falls, een klein dorpje waar mysterieuze moorden aan het plaatsvinden zijn. Agent Saga is dit aan het onderzoeken terwijl Alan Wake een verhaal aan het schrijven is om te ontsnappen uit een buitenaards nachtmerrie. Beide hoofdpersonen hebben een eigen reis en een eigen realiteit in Alan Wake 2.
