Valve co-founder en CEO Gabe Newell heeft aan 1 NEWS aangegeven dat Valve meerdere games in ontwikkeling heeft. De VR-game Half Life: Alyx was maar één van de meerdere projecten.
Sinds het succes van PC game platform Steam, maakte Valve steeds minder games en dat zorgde voor teleurstelling bij fans, want Valve was heel populair als game studio.
Gabe Newell laat nu weten dat Valve weer gefocust is op het maken van games. Meerdere projecten zijn bezig en en enkele hebben een sterke focus op single player. De kans op Half Life 3 waar fans al meer dan 10 jaar opwachten, is nu dus groter dan ooit.
We definitely have games in development that we’re going to be announcing — it’s fun to ship games. Alyx was great — to be back doing single-player games, that created a lot of momentum inside of the company to do more of that
I’ve successfully not spoken about those things (new Half Life projects) for a long time and I hope to continue to not talk about them until they are moot questions. The nice thing is, by not answering those questions, I avoid the community coming up with new, equally-difficult-to-answer questions
