Zelfs Gearbox Software ziet geen toekomst meer in Battleborn en laat via Twitter weten dat spelers tot 24 februari 2020 nog virtuele munteenheid Platinum kunnen aanschaffen. De game blijft vervolgens nog speelbaar tot aan januari 2021 en dan wordt de stekker echt uit de getrokken. Er is dus nog wel iets meer dan een jaar tijd dat je de game nog kan spelen.
