Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford heeft tijdens een evenement van Embracer Group aangegeven dat hij Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands graag ziet uitgroeien tot een franchise.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is een spin-off van de Borderlands-franchise. Beide games zijn looter shooters, maar Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is niet gebaseerd op Borderlands lore, maar op de gekke fantasie van het personage Tiny Tina.
Volgens Pitchford heeft Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands alle verwachtingen overtroffen, zowel kritisch als commercieel.
“Gearbox Software achieved a major victory this past year with the launch of a new franchise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands,” Pitchford said during Gearbox parent company Embracer Group’s AGM on Wednesday.
“Wonderlands shattered all of our target expectations, both critically and commercially, and I’m thrilled to report that in addition to great financial rewards from this victory that will be coming our way in the coming quarters, we have established a firm beachhead.
“We now clearly have a new franchise on our hands, with future experiences already under development at Gearbox,” Pitchford added.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is nu verkrijgbaar voor de PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Steam en de Epic Games Store.
