11 jaar geleden tijdens de San Diego Comic Con werd de ontwikkeling van Tekken X Street Fighter aangekondigd.
Jarenlang zaten fans te hopen op beelden, maar die kwamen niet. Daarna begon speculatie dat het project geannuleerd kon zijn. Tekken game directeur Katsuhiro Harada heeft nu officieel aangegeven dat ontwikkeling gestopt is.
Volgens Harada is het heel jammer. Ongeveer 30% was afgerond en hij had graag wat beelden van het ambitieus project getoond. Maar Street Fighter is van Capcom en daarom kan dit project alleen van de grond komen als Capcom actief meewerkt met Bandai Namco.
Vooralsnog komt er dus geen Tekken x Street Fighter.

“We were working really hard on that, we really were. Wish we could show you the models and stuff. We had really nice models. I really wanted to show them Chun-Li. I wanted to show you guys all the characters. We were pretty confident. We wanted to show it, but the project died.”
“We wish we could show you them eventually, but Street Fighter belongs to Capcom so we can’t do it on our own.”
