Blizzard Entertainment heeft besloten om de Hero Mastery Gauntlet-modus uit de free-to-play shooter Overwatch 2 te halen. Dat is opvallend, want de modus is maar vier maanden oud.
Blizzard heeft genoeg data die aangeeft dat het engagement level van spelers voor de Hero Mastery Gauntlet langer dan verwacht is. Spelers zouden weinig tot geen interesse hebben in de modus. Daarom heeft Blizzard besloten om Hero Mastery Gauntlet offline te halen en zich te richten op alle andere modi. Hero Mastery Gauntlet blijft nog speelbaar tot het volgend seizoen. Met de grote update van seizoen 11, gaat Hero Mastery Gauntlet verdwijnen.
Hero Mastery Gauntlet moet niet verward worden met Hero Master Mastery Missions. Laatstgenoemde is een parkour-uitdaging per hero. Hero Mastery Gauntlet is een player versus environment tower defense modus.

Statement over het offline halen van Hero Mastery Gauntlet uit Overwatch 2
“Greetings heroes,
As we prepare for Season 11, we’ve taken the time to evaluate a variety of game modes based on how much they are being played. Hero Mastery Gauntlet was intended to bring the high score-chasing excitement of Hero Mastery missions into a multiplayer format. Unfortunately, it hasn’t resonated with players in the ways that we hoped. With this in mind, we have decided to discontinue Hero Mastery Gauntlet as a permanent mode, and it will not be available to play starting in Season 11.
Players have until the end of Season 10 to complete the Lifetime Challenges for Hero Mastery Gauntlet and compete on the mode’s Top 500 leaderboards. Thanks to all of you who jumped into the Gauntlet. If you are still looking to improve your hero skills, Individual Hero Mastery Solo Courses will continue to be available, and there will be more Hero Mastery Solo Courses coming in upcoming seasons. We’ll see you in-game!”
Overwatch 2 is gratis speelbaar op de PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch en PC.
