Acteur Pedro Pascal won afgelopen dag een SAG Award waarna hij een interview gaf aan de website Deadline over aankomende projecten. Zo zijn de opnames voor het tweede seizoen van The Last of Us live action tv-serie begonnen.
Volgens Pascal, zijn de opnames twee weken geleden gestart en gaat het geweldig. Hij is blij om weer zijn laarzen aan te doen en het personage Joel Miller weer te spelen. Net als het eerste seizoen heeft Craig Mazin de rol van producer en Neil Druckmann is weer de executive producer.
“Filming is going amazing,” Pascal told Deadline about the first two weeks of production. “It’s sort of awe-inspiring the kind of focus and dedication that everyone has going into Season 2. Stepping into those boots again, it feels strangely brand new,” he said. “I’ve never done anything like this before that has such original authorship before I ever got to it.”
“And then to be given the space to author what would I have to give and to be under Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and alongside Bella Ramsey has been really the whole reason it works for me,” he said. “I guess I’m learning something new every day, and I’ll be thinking about it probably for the rest of my life.”
Seizoen 2 van The Last of Us tv-serie zal in 2025 uitgezonden worden op streaming service Max. Het tweede seizoen is gebaseerd op de tweede game in de franchise namelijk The Last of Us: Part II waar Ellie de hoofdrol heeft en op wraakpad gaat. Actrice Kaitlyn Dever gaat in de schoenen staan het personage Abby.
The Last of Us: Part I Remake en The Last of Us: Part II Remastered zijn speelbaar op de PlayStation 5.
