Afgelopen nacht werd The Game Awards gehouden, ook wel de Oscars maar dan voor videogames genoemd. Veel prijzen zijn uitgedeeld voor verschillende categorieën. Verschillende games streden voor beste game van het jaar 2025 waaronder 3 indie-titels, wat niet eerder is voorgekomen.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 werd bekroond tot Game of the Year 2025. Daarmee bleef het niet: in totaal sleepte de titel negen awards binnen, een nieuw record in de geschiedenis van The Game Awards. Het vorige record stond op naam van The Last of Us Part 2, dat in 2020 zeven prijzen won.
